The Season Starts at Space
Recently voted number one in the DJ Mag’s Top 100 Clubs poll, Space Ibiza will open its doors to the 2011 summer season and those staying in one of our luxury villas Ibiza on Sunday 29th of May.
In order to live up to this mighty praise Space’s Opening Fiesta party 2011 promises to be one of the best yet with some of the world’s leading musical maestros spinning their vinyl’s on the night.
Carl Cox – Not only will Space be opening its doors on the 29th but also its car park. Involved right from conception Carl Cox will be returning this year to take the helm as Space’s Opening Fiesta’s car park DJ.
‘When they opened the car park, it was like having a mini-festival all within the confines of Space. I really enjoyed the fact you had more people to play for but also that these people were there under the sun or under the stars, it's an awesome thing to feel free and dance in the open air. So all of that has developed into something very special and much bigger too; in the early days you had 7 or 8000 people in the club, that was it, whereas now the car park allows a lot more to get in and enjoy the party.’
Jeff Mills – Hailing all the way from the U.S of A Mills is one of the most respected names on the electronic music scene, having influenced many of the modern giants of the industry. Not happy restricting his artistic temperament to just music Mills has also found success in photography and art with exhibitions featuring his work attracting many.
Fedde le Grand – After his meteoric rise to prominence following the release of ‘Put your hands up for Detroit’ in 2006, Fedde has maintained this level of excellence and is now regarded as one of the world’s leading DJs. With his ingenious remixes attracting the likes of Madonna and Robbie Williams as collaborators Fedde has successfully fallen into producing and now runs a successful record label, Flamingo with Funkerman and Raf.
Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano – Two heads are certainly better than one as these two prove beyond a shadow of a doubt. Their infectious brand of funky house has entertained many and inspired even more, never failing to get a crowd jumping.
Wally Lopez – Resident DJ to Space, Lopez quickly established himself as Spain’s most ‘in demand’ DJs. One of the founding fathers of the House music scene in Spain DJ Mag has rightly featured Lopez in their top 100 year after year. Artists to have been involved with Lopez have included Tiesto, Bob Sinclair, Dirty Vegas and Robbie Riviera.
More additions will be made to the line up in the coming months but judging from the quality of talent already booked few are likely to be disappointed with Space kicking the Ibiza 2011 summer season off with a beat.
