When You’ve Tired of the Pool – Get on your Bike!
It goes without saying that a few days relaxing round a pool at one of our luxury villas in Ibiza does wonders for the soul.
But it is also true to say that after days on end of lounging, you might be on the lookout for something more. And on Ibiza, there are plenty of activities to keep even the most energetic holiday-maker busy.
Through your exclusive villas Ibiza’s Concierge Service, you can rent a bicycle and embark on a two-wheeled tour of the island, which lends itself to mountain biking. Either head off from your luxury villa Ibiza along the wonderful coastline tracks, or venture inland on any one of the number of trails which criss-cross the island.
There are at least 20 tried-and-tested routes on the island, which are graded from green – which cover around nine miles in under two hours - through blue and red to black. The black routes cover up to 53 miles and take around eight hours to complete.
Guides can be hired to meet you at your exclusive villa in Ibiza and return you, absolutely exhausted, home at the end of the day.
Alternatively use the Concierge Service offered to organise a horse ride in the sweet-smelling pine forests which adorn the island. There are a number of stables in Ibiza, which lends itself to riding. Inland there are virtually no roads to negotiate – just a network of woodland paths that reveal the un-spoilt agricultural charm of the Ibiza of yesteryear.
If you prefer relying on your own two feet, there are some wonderful walks from your luxury villa on Ibiza. In fact, there are more than 120 coastal walks from which to choose, including a full-moon walk starting in the resort of Port de Sant Miquel on the north coast. The trail winds up and up through pine forest to one of 15 lookout towers that were built in the 18th century to protect against pirates.
During the summer months, it may be too hot to walk in the heat of the day as temperatures frequently reach 30C. But an evening stroll from luxury villa on Ibiza will be the perfect tonic to a lazy day. During the winter, temperatures drop to around 15 to 20C, offering the perfect conditions in which to explore the island on foot.
