Sant Antonio Cultural Festival
A feast of live music, markets and dance a stone’s throw from our luxury villas to rent on Ibiza.The colorful resort of San Antonio has masterminded a vibrant festival to keep the atmosphere buzzing throughout the summer.
Sant Antoni Cultural is an eclectic mix of live open-air concerts, arts and crafts fairs and local folk dancing which will take place every week until the beginning of October.
The 13-week festival is being held at a number of venues in the delightful town of San Antonio, just a short distance from all of our luxury villas Ibiza. The event, put together by local residents who are keen to give young talent an opportunity to perform live, kicked off with a concert by Irish rock musicians The Moonshine Band.
Festival performances will span many genres from jazz to rock and folk. So why not linger over a starlit supper at your luxury villa Ibiza and then head into San Antonio for one of the concerts? Forthcoming performances from Tales of Gloom and Replica take place on August 13th and 19th respectively.
The festival isn’t just for music enthusiasts, however. Every Friday evening between 7pm and midnight local artists and talented craftsmen set up their stalls in a square next to the Tourist Office, in San Antonio, for visitors to peruse. The atmosphere at these night-time markets is magical, and it is well worth making the trip from your luxury villa to rent on Ibiza to drink in the sights, tastes and sounds of Sant Antoni Cultural.
On the third Friday of every month, until October, artists will also take part in a fascinating series of ‘Art Days’ allowing visitors to watch them create their wares.
The last but by no means least important component of Sant Antoni Cultural is the ‘Ballades d’Estiu’, a mesmerizing blaze of color which turns the streets of San Antonio into one big folk dancing gig. Every Sunday evening professional dancers will take it in turns to bring the national dance to San Antonio and once again, it is highly recommended that on at least one Sunday during your luxury villa Ibiza holiday you take the chance to soak up the atmosphere.
